Who we are

This website is operated by Telxer (“Telxer”, “we”, “us”), a digital infrastructure group with its head office at 3rd Floor, IKON Building, Brains Avenue, Masaki, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Telxer is responsible for the personal information collected through this website.

This policy explains what we collect when you visit telxer.com or contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Our products (Fiber, Extel, Neno, TeleMoney and Rails) may have their own terms and privacy notices, which apply when you use those services.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you use our contact form, we collect the details you choose to share: your name, work email, phone number, company, company size, the products you are interested in, how you prefer to be contacted and your message.

How you found us. When you send the contact form, we also record the page you sent it from, the page you first landed on, the referring website and any campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source). These are kept in your browser only for the current visit.

Usage information. Only if you accept analytics cookies, we collect information about how you use the website, such as pages viewed, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type. See Cookies.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information through this website, and we ask that you do not include it in your message.

To reply to your enquiry and connect you with the right team.
To prepare proposals and provide the services you ask about.
To send you information you have asked for. We only send marketing emails with your consent, and every email lets you unsubscribe.
To understand how the website is used and improve it (only with your consent to analytics cookies).

Legal bases

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: your consent (analytics cookies and marketing emails); steps you ask us to take before entering a contract (replying to an enquiry and preparing a proposal); our legitimate interests in running and securing our business and website; and legal obligations that apply to us.

Telxer group companies that provide the service you are interested in.
Service providers who help us run the website and handle enquiries, such as website hosting, form processing, email and customer relationship tools, and analytics (only with your consent). They may use your information only to provide their service to us.

Telxer works with customers and partners worldwide, and some of our service providers store data outside your country. When we transfer personal information across borders, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law, such as contractual protections.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and to manage our relationship with you, and then for up to 24 months unless you become a customer or the law requires us to keep them longer. Analytics data is kept in aggregated form or deleted according to the settings of our analytics provider.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including under Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 and, where it applies, the EU and UK GDPR, you may have the right to:

ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct or delete it;
object to or restrict how we use it;
withdraw your consent at any time, including for cookies and marketing;
complain to your data protection authority.

Essential storage, which the website needs to work, such as remembering your cookie choice and keeping your contact form details for the current visit. This does not track you across other websites.
